The Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir attended a function organised on the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, here today.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev are an inspiration for all of us. He said that many people have made sacrifices to achieve freedom which we enjoy today. Their sacrifices have not gone waste and will not be allowed to go waste, he asserted. He said that we pay tribute to all who made sacrifices today on their martyrdom day. He also spoke on the freedom struggle and 1857 movement. Ahir said that he is fortunate to be present here today among the families of freedom fighters. He said that we respect the families of the freedom fighters. He said that he has received a memorandum from them regarding their demands and will consider these demands. Some of their demands included providing better educational facilities for their children and setting up of a ‘bhawan’ for freedom fighters in Delhi for their stay.The Members of Parliament Shri Prasanna Kumar Patasani, Shri Prasanna Acharya and Shri Nityanand Rai were also present on the occasion.
