Minister for Horticulture, Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari on behalf of the Minister for Social Welfare today informed the House that there are nine Pahari Hostels providing boarding and lodging facilities to Pahari Speaking students, across the State.The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice moved by MLA Pahalgam Altaf Ahmad Wani in Legislative Assembly in this regard.He said the transfer and posting of Wardens and Assistant Wardens, in these hostels is governed in terms of Government order No: 356-GAD of 2015 dated: 13-03-2015, and posting orders are being issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), from amongst the Lecturers, Headmasters and Masters from the School Education Department, after seeking approval of Chief Minister (Chairperson of the said Advisory Board).The Minister further said that the Government has constituted State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People in the year 1989, with the objective to raise the educational standards of the students of Pahari Speaking Community.He said for achieving these objectives, two schemes Management of Boys/girls hostels and Grant of pre-matric/post-matric scholarships are being implemented by the said Advisory Board.
