Rs 10 lakh released for completion of Sogam Filteration Plant : Mir Zahoor Ahmad

Minister of State for PHE, Zahoor Ahmad Mir today said that work on Sogam Filtration Plant will be completed before March 2018 and to resume the work on the project, Rs 10 lakh has been released for the due payments to the contractor.Replying to a Calling Attention Notice moved by legislator Qaiser Jamsheed Lone to call the attention of the Government towards the situation that has arisen due to the delay in construction of water filtration plant at Sogam.The Minister informed the House that filtration plant at Sogam stands allotted in 2011 at an estimated cost of Rs 19.06 lakh and key construction material including cement and steel is available with Divisional stores of Kupwara division.He said that the contractor left the work halfway after completing 50%, due to the non- availability of funds, now an amount of Rs 10 lakh has been released to liquidate the due payments of the contractor and completion of the Filtration Plant.
