Lauding efforts of Kashmiri Pandit community in keeping their children abreast with their culture and heritage, Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Department of Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today said that those who stay connected with their roots through art, culture and languages never go in oblivion.“Had the community not kept their children's date with their past, many cultural legacies would have faded away into history”, she maintained.Priya Sethi, while speaking as chief guest at a program - Gaashtarukh VIth -The KP Idol, organized by Jammu Kashmir Vichaar Manch at Sathya Sai Auditorium, New Delhi, appreciated the organizers for holding such programme which connect the young generation to their roots besides upholding the identity of a particular clan. This is the best that a community can pass on to their posterity as 'Legacy', she asserted.Priya Sethi said this endeavor of Kashmiri Pandit community will enable the young generation to be brand ambassadors of their community as well as Jammu and Kashmir State which is known for composite culture around the globe.

The Minister, while congratulating winners as well as those who participated in this annual event, hoped that the community will carry their noble mission of keeping their culture alive for the world.Priya Sethi said Kashmiri is a sweet language and its songs always mesmerize audiences. Making a mention of Kashmiri Pandit girl who cracked KAS exams and several film directors and producers besides several journalists of the community, she said that their contribution is appreciable and unforgettable.The Minister appreciated the efforts of the concerned organization which has covered all the dimensions for protection, preservation and propagation of cultural ethos of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. She also lauded children of the community for displaying their talents in the field of singing, dancing and music.Later, the Minister felicitated the participants and gave away the awards to the winners.Nearly, 200 children participated in the event who were from Jammu, Delhi NCR and Dehradun.She appreciated the work and support of JKVM members towards this initiative of the KP community.
