In a bid to propagate the rich legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass ji, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today approved an eleven-member concept committee for the finalization of the prestigious Sri Guru Ravidass Memorial to come up at village Khuralgarh near Garhshankar in Hoshiarpur district.Presiding over a high level meeting here at Punjab Bhawan this morning, the Chief Minister gave his nod to the concept committee to be headed by Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Sarwan Singh Phillaur besides Chief Parliamentary Secretary Irrigation Mr. SS Thandal, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Local Govt. Mr. Som Parkash, Sant Nirmal Dass Jaurewale, Sant Surinder Dass Kathar, Mr. Lekh Raj Parwana, Mr. Dharampal Singal, Prof. Jasbir Singh Sabar, Mr. HS Kaler and Mr. Siri Ram Arsh (all eminent scholars).  Mr. RL Kalsia would be the convener of the committee. The Chief Minister also approved requisite funds for the conduct of the meetings of Sri Guru Ravidass Yadgar Foundation from time to time.  The meeting also deliberated upon the formation of executive committee to be headed by Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Sarwan Singh Phillaur.  The Chief Minister also gave approval to appoint Mr. Harminder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur as Chief Executive Officer of the executive committee.  Mr Badal also asked the members to make concerted efforts to ensure the completion of this holy project within the time frame adding they must study the model and concept of Jang-e-Azaadi memorial coming up at Kartarpur near Jalandhar, to replicate the same for Sri Guru Ravidass Memorial in a planned and systematic manner.  The Chief Minister also approved a site selection committee comprising CPS Mr. Sohan Singh Thandal, MLA Garhshankar Mr. Mohinder Singh Bhullewalrathan besides Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur and SDM Garhshankar to arrange requisite land for the memorial.  Mr. Badal was apprised in the meeting that only after getting the green signal from the above committee regarding 14 acre 4 kanal and 14 marla land selected for the site, the government would proceed further for necessary formalities under Section 4 & 6 of Land Acquisition Act.

Mr. Som Parkash, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Medical Education & Research Mrs. Mohinder Kaur Josh, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Pawan Kumar Teenu, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. SK Sandhu, Principal Secretary Cultural Affairs Mr. SS Channy, Sant Nirmal Dass Jaurewale, Mr. HS Kaler, Mr. Siri Ram Arsh and Mr. RL Kalsia
