The General Observer Shri Laxmikanth Reddy G IAS posted for Lok Sabha Constituency Ferozepur by Election Commission of India visited Fazilka today and reviewed the election preparations here. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal and SSP Dr. Pragya Jain welcomed him on his arrival here.
On this occasion, he said that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) should be strictly implemented and all the election preparations should be completed according to the schedule given as per the instructions of the Election Commission. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal informed him about the election preparations being made in the district and said that there are 829 polling booths in the district.
She said that the four Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the district fall in the Lok Sabha constituency of Ferozepur. 12 FST and 12 SST teams are functioning in the district. MCC is being strictly enforced. On this occasion, SSP Dr. Pragya Jain IPS informed about the security arrangements and said that drugs and drug money worth Rs. 43.85 crores were seized in district. Additional Deputy Commissioner General cum Additional District Election Officer Mr. Rakesh Kumar Popli briefed the election observers about the sveep activities and other election preparations being conducted for voter awareness in the district.
On this occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Development cum ARO Balluana Mr. Amarinder Singh Malhi, SDM Abohar Mr. Pankaj Bansal, SDM Fazilka Mr. Vipan Bhandari, SDM Jalalabad Mr. Balkaran Singh, District Revenue Officer Mr. Sandeep Singh, Assistant Commissioner General Mr. Manjit Singh, LO of observer Mr. Jagdeep Singh Sandhu were also present. Before this, he also wrote a message to the signature board established in the district administrative complex to motivate the voters to cast their votes and also saw an exhibition about the sveep activities in the district
