An introductory meeting of Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held under the chairmanship of MLC, Ashok Khajuria, to discuss the functioning of the Committee. Legislators, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Dr. Shahnaz Ganai, Muhammad Muzaffar Parray, Yashpal Sharma and Vikram Randawa attended the meeting. Threadbare discussion was held on working of the Committee and the Chairman sought support from all the members to make functioning of the committee effective and result oriented.The Committee directed the senior officers of Council Secretariat to call officers of Public Service Commission in its next meeting along with a detailed report of rules, bi-rules and regulation with regard to conduct of DPCs of various departments falling under the domain of this autonomous body.The Committee further decided to have a detailed deliberation of SRO-64 and 43 pertaining to daily wagers and compassionate appointments accordingly. It instructed the Council Secretariat to obtain relevant SROs and other records for discussion in the next meeting of the Committee.The Committee also instructed the Council Secretariat to obtain the relevant records from the Social Welfare Department pertaining to disabled person being provided various kinds of incentives and the present status of the Gaddis and other communities being looked after by the Social Welfare Department.Among others, Special Secretary, Legislative Council, Muhammad Ashraf Wani, senior officers of the Legislative Council were present in the meeting.
