The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly met here today under the Chairmanship of Mohammad Akbar Lone to review the functioning and examine the Audit Paras pertaining to audit of Lift Irrigation Schemes for the year 2017-18 and Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (AIBP).The Chairman stressed on following the guidelines of AIBP while planning, prioritizing and executing the schemes.He said there is a need to formulate the perspective plan and guidelines should be adhered strictly for implementation of schemes.To ensure that projects are completed on time within the approved budget, he said there is a need to institute appropriate monitoring so that envisaged benefited  are derived.The Chairman stressed on the fact that schemes should be taken up in a planned manner after fulfilling all the pre-requisites. For the benefit of people, he said that steps should be taken to complete all the ongoing lift irrigation schemes in a time bound manner and works should be executed in a properly to avoid wastage of resources.The meeting was attended by legislators Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Nabi Moonga, MLC and Firdous Ahmad Tak.
