The Committee on Government Assurances of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today directed the Rural Development Department (RDD) to fulfil all pending Government Assurances pertaining to them on the floor of the House from time to time in a time bound manner.The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora to examine the Action Taken Reports (ATRs) of the Government Assurances besides over all functioning of the RD department.The Committee directed the concerned authorities of RDD to proper utilization of funds which are already sanctioned for the purposes under various state and centrally sponsored schemes being carried out by the department for the development of the rural areas of the state.Legislators, Mohammad Amin Bhat and Dr. Krishan Lal attended the meeting and stressed upon the officers of Rural Development Department to gear up their field functionaries and achieve the targets in full. They also highlighted their constituency related development issues and stressed on the concerned officers to complete the same as early as possible.Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department, Nirmal Sharma briefed the Committee about the action taken by department on the pending Government Assurances given by the department in the house from time to time besides overall functioning of the department. It also assured that the department will take appropriate action to fulfil all the commitments made by the department. Among others, Secretary, Rural Development Department, Rafieq Ahmed, Director RDD, Kashmir, Gazanafar Ali, Director, Rural Sanitation, J&K, Special Secretary Law, Justice and Parliament Affairs, ACDs from different districts besides other senior officers of concerned department and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
