14000 Aadhaar cards generated in Reasi

A total of over 14000 Aadhaar cards were generated in the district till August this year thereby taking cumulative figure of registered population under the programme to 2.75 lakhs.This was informed by the representatives of district enrolment center in a meeting convened by District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar to review the progress of Aadhaar cards generation and seedling in the district.The concerned district coordinator further informed that 6000 more enrolments have been made in addition to existing Aadhaar cards already prepared and generated in the district.The DDC discussed a comprehensive action plan chalked out to cover the left out population during the ongoing enrolment drive in all the nine tehsils. He emphasized on the tehsildars to notify village wise schedule for enrolment.Under Aadhaar seedling, it was informed by the concerned officers that out of 18000 beneficiaries, 7500 have been covered under old age, widow and handicapped pensions category. Similarly over 53000 job card holders under MGNREGA have been registered with Aadhaar cards and process in on to cover left out cards.The DDC laid stress on expediting the process of enrolment and seedling of Aadhaar in all categories so that benefits of central sponsored schemes percolate down to the grass root level besides encouraging transparency and developing accountable system in various departments.The DDC also resolved various issues of Aadhaar enrolment centers and asked the officers to make a work chart of the Aadhaar seedling process and achieve the targets.The Tehsildars were instructed to personally monitor the progress being achieved by enrolment centers on daily basis. Instructions were also passed for proper information and communication to the people who are left out and ensure their enrolment.The meeting was attended by ADDC Ramesh Chander, ACR Abdul Sattar, ACD M.Y. Malik, DSEO Kasturi Lal, DSWO Kulraj Singh, Assistant Director Food Nasib Bajran, Chief Education Officer B.S. Jaral, Tehsildars and other concerned officers.
