Expressing deep grief over the killing of a youth Sajad Ahmad Sheikh in Batamaloo, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Sunday said the forces are carrying out killings to quench their ‘thirst for blood’.In a statement issued to KNS, Shah questioned the silence of the world leadership over the ‘grave situation’ in Kashmir saying the world powers otherwise don’t waste a moment to find out the “enemies of peace”.“This shows the double standards of the world leadership in dealing with those regions having Muslim majority population,” Shah said and asked the international community to shun its “unsympathetic” attitude towards Kashmir.

He said if world continues to maintain silence over the happenings in Kashmir, “the flames of the fire of this disputed region will spread across the globe”. “So, India needs to be held accountable for its crimes against humanity in Kashmir,” he said.Meanwhile, Shah paid tributes to S Hameed on his anniversary and said the ongoing freedom movement is the offshoot of the invaluable sacrifices of such great personalities.“S Hameed was a great mujahid who dedicated his whole life for the freedom movement and showed steadfastness till his last breath. Under his guidance worked the several brave-hearts of Kashmir. He himself was a brave and fearless warrior. His contribution towards freedom struggle will always be remembered,” Shah added.
