Condemning the killing of a senior Akali leader of Gurdaspur district by a Congressman due to political rivalry, Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday said that even before the formation of government in Punjab Congressmen have started showing their true colors. In a press statement, senior AAP leaders Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Kanwar Sandhu said that both Congress and Akalis have same culture of terrorizing people while in power. Khaira said that earlier in 10 year rule of Akalis, atrocities were done on the common people and now it is turn of Congress to do the same.Khaira said that the law and order system is totally collapsed in the last 10 years and rather than correcting it, Congress leaders are following the footsteps of Akalis. He said that it will be a tough task for Captain Amrinder to correct the law and order system in state as his own men are indulged in wrongful activities.

“AAP will not keep mum on the issues of public interest and to oppose the wrongdoings of government and political leaders in state.” said Khaira. He said that with the help of the people of state, AAP will successfully perform the duty of opposition party in the vidhan sabha as well as outside.Kanwar Sandhu demanded that the accused must be arrested immediately and put behind the bars. He said that it is the need of the hour to depoliticize the police department in state and let the police take lead.Sandhu said that the social and political system in state is on the verge of collapse and AAP will continue to raise the voice of unheard. He said that the new government must reopen the cases of atrocities done by the Akalis during their 10 years rule and those responsible for killing innocents must be put behind the bars.
