Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today reviewed the functioning of Government Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu at a high-level meeting held here today.Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Ms. Asiea Naqash, Commissioner/Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr. M.K. Bhandari, Principal GMC, Jammu, Dr. Zahid Gillani, Secretary Technical, Health & Medical Education, Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Medical Superintendent, SSHJ, Dr. Manoj Chalotra and other senior officers of the Medical Education were present in the meeting.While taking detailed review of the status of manpower, vacancies, steps initiated to fill up the vacant posts of various categories of medicos through concerned recruitment agencies, finalization of rules and other allied issues, the Minister directed the concerned to vigorously pursue with the PSC and SSB to fill up the vacancies on fast-track basis so that the patient care does not suffer. He also sought action on the newly appointed doctors, who proceeded on leave after putting their joining reports and on those who are willfully absenting.Taking serious note of delay in framing the rules for gazetted as well as non-gazetted posts, the Minister directed the concerned to finalize the entire process of recruitment rules within a shortest possible time. He also issued directions to the Principal to take all necessary steps to further improve the facilities related to the patient care in the SSH.
