A meeting of the House Committee on Spurious Drugs of Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Council was held here today under the chairpersonship of MLC, Dr Shehnaz Ganai.Legislators, Naresh Kumar Gupta and Ramesh Arora attended the meeting.The Committee directed the concerned for adopting proper procedure for issuing drug licenses. It also asked the concerned for early repair for diagnostics equipments lying defunct in various health institutions.The Committee directed the concerned Medical Superintendents of the hospitals to ensure that the defunct diagnostics equipments be made functional as early as possible for the convenience of the people.The Committee also asked to send the drugs received by the Department for supply of various hospital laboratories for their testing to curb the menace of spurious drugs.The Committee also discussed the steps taken by the Department to curb the menace of substandard drugs.The Accountant General, Audit, H Abbas briefed the Committee about the audit paras regarding various aspects of Drug Policy of Health Department. Among others, Officers and officials of Council Secretariat were presented on the occasion.
