A meeting of Committee on Public Accounts (PAC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held under the Chairmanship of MLA, Nawang Rigzin Jora on behalf of MLA Mian Altaf Ahmed to examine Comptroller Audit General (CAG), Audit Paras regarding PWD (R&B) department.Legislators, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Javaid Mustafa Mir, R S Pathania, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Rajesh Gupta and Qaiser Jamshed Lone were present in the meeting.Threadbare discussions were held on CAG’s Audit Paras of 3.18 about deduction of service tax, 3.19 about unfruitful expenditure and 3.20 about unplanned execution of road projects of the Public Works Department (R&B).Commissioner Secretary, PWD (R&B), Rohit Kansal briefed the Committee about the CAG’s Audit Paras besides status of road projects being executed by various government agencies under NABARD and PMGSY. Accountant General, H Abbas also briefed the Committee about the reports. The members of the Committee stressed on the concerned authorities to complete ongoing road and other projects as early as possible.The Committee dropped Audit Para no 3.20 after consultation with the members.Among others, senior officers of R&B department and Assembly Secretariat present in the meeting.
