Aam Aadmi Party has termed the problem of air pollution caused by stubble burning as the ‘Cause of concern’ for whole nation and appealed all the states and centre government to find solution of the problem. In a press statement, Chairman of manifesto committee Kanwar Sandhu and Member and Spokesperson, Chander Suta Dogra said that the farmers of the country alone can’t be blamed for burning stubble till the time government is not able to present any comprehensive plan to use the agriculture waste.AAP leaders accused Capt. Amrinder led Congress government and Parkash Singh Badal led SAD-BJP government for ignoring the problem. “The problem has not grown overnight but government’s ignorance made it a bigger concern for the country at present.

The problem would have not bothered us to this extent if consequent governments implemented the advice of agricultural scientist regarding using the waste in a better way. Registering cases against farmers under Air Pollution act 1986 is not the solution of the problem but harassment of the peasants. ” said Sandhu. The leaders assured to present an inclusive plan to use the agriculture waste in a way that farmers get extra income out of that. AAP has consulted many renowned agriculture scientists to discuss plan regarding this.Dogra suggested Congress leaders to read the ‘Farmers Manifesto’ released by AAP carefully. She said that various issues related to the farming and their answers were addressed in the manifesto. AAP will be releasing a general manifesto soon and the problems related to environment will be addressed in it under ‘Green Manifesto’ chapter.
