Punjab Irrigation Minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today expressed shock and disbelief over the statement of AAP MP Mr Bhagwant Mann in which he said that the government's help and facilities to the people from economically weaker sections of the society and Dalits was reducing them to the status of "beggars". While taking an aim at the AAP leader, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that this statement clearly shows the sick mindset of both Bhagwant Mann as well as the entire Aam Aadmi Party. Mr Dhillon said this while addressing the gathering during the function organised for the distribution of wheat under the Punjab government's Atta-Dal scheme at Meharban village, near here, today. While speaking on the occasion, Mr Dhillon said that Bhagwant Mann is suffering from casteist intoxication and that is why, he is making a mockery of people from economically weaker sections of the society as well as the Dalits. He said that these statements have not gone down well with the people and so they would teach him as well as his party a befitting lesson in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections.

Mr Dhillon said that several welfare schemes have been started by the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government for the welfare of people and maybe Bhagwant Mann doesn't realise that it is the duty of every government to stand by every needy and poor person. He said that Mr Mann should understand that people don't become beggars by receiving help and facilities out of their own money (public exchequer). He said that for him as well as for the entire SAD-BJP leadership, these people are supreme, but maybe Mr Mann wont understand that because he is intoxicated with high caste attitude of looking down upon those who need and deserve help. Mr Dhillon informed that in Meharban circle alone, more than 22,000 blue cards have been made by the Punjab government. While speaking to media persons, Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that the Aam Aadmi Party is walking in the footsteps of Congress party as both are Anti-Punjab parties and have been damaging the Sikh religion as well.During today's function, 1500 wheat bags of 30 kilograms each were distributed to the beneficiaries of Meharban area of Atta-Dal scheme. This wheat was handed over to them at a price of Rs 1 per kg for a period of April 2016-September 2016.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Meharban, SGPC member Ranjit Singh Mangli, Gurdeep Singh Jeewanpur, Sarpanch Maninder Singh Kakowal, Rachhpal Singh PA, besides several others.
