Sahnewal Town To Have 100 % Potable Drinking Water Supply & Sewerage Facility In Next Three Months - Sharanjit Singh Dhillon

In a bid to provide potable drinking water supply and sewerage facility to the residents of rural areas and due to the efforts of Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party government, Sahnewal would have 100% potable drinking water supply and sewerage facility in next three months time. The foundation stone for the last phase of this Rs 80 crore project was laid by Punjab Irrigation Minister Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, here today.While addressing the gathering, Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that the main aim of the Punjab government is to provide basic infrastructure, and that is why, Sahnewal town is being provided 100% potable drinking water supply and sewerage facility. He said that earlier, the Punjab government had allocated Rs 70 crore for this project and around 85 percent work has already been completed. He said that for the completion of this project, the state government has provided more than Rs 9.5 crore, the work for which has started from today onwards. He said that this work would be completed in next around three months time.

Mr Dhillon said that for the timely completion of this project, he has already issued strict instructions to the concerned staff. He said that sewer lines of some nearby villages would also be connected with this. He said that besides Sahnewal town, the work on laying of sewerage is going on in many villages of Sahnewal constituency. Mr Dhillon appealed to the area residents that they should not connect their connections with this sewer line till the time it is fully ready.He announced that once Sahnewal has 100 % potable drinking water supply and sewerage facility, the entire constituency would be developed as a model constituency and tiles would be fixed in streets, along with streetlights.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Pawan Kumar Tinku, besides several others.
