In today's time, people expect officers to provide good administrative services to them. That is why, there is a need that the officers should devise an easy and simple system for providing good administrative services to people. This was stated by Punjab Governor Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki while attending a function organised by an organisation named Sankalp to honour newly appointed IAS officers at Kundan Vidya Mandir, here today.He said that administrative services should be such that people feel as if they are getting these services at their doorstep. He said that a speedy system should be put into place for redressal of peoples complaints. 

Prof Solanki said that not only the officers should be committed towards their job, but even their staff should be urged to stay committed.He said that the Centre as well as state governments are making efforts for the betterment of people, but the officers should play an important role. The governments are committed for bringing positive changes in lives of people and also for providing them equal opportunities. He urged the officers to implement people centric schemes and policies properly.On the occasion, Harsimran Singh, who has cleared IAS and Miss Surabhi, who cleared IPS, after taking coaching from Sankalp, shared their experiences with the audience. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Rajya Sabha member Mr Shwet Malik, Principal Secretary to Governor Mr MP Singh, Joint Director Mr Naginder Singh, President of Sankalp Mr Narinder Mittal, besides several others.
