Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga while highlighting the role of   industrial sector in the development of the nation said that the sector plays a vital role in  generating employment avenues and giving a boost to the economy .The Minister was speaking at a function after releasing Telephone Directory of Bari Brahmana Industries Association.Reiterating the government's resolve to promote a healthy environment for entrepreneurs to run the units and foster industrial growth in the state,  Ganga  said that the government is fully committed to provide all possible facilities to the industrialists adding that he would personally monitor the growth of all the industrial estates. He urged the industrialists present on the occasion to participate in the development process initiated by the government and to take responsibilities under Corporate Social Responsibility programme (CSR).

The Minister said that the government is taking adequate steps to provide a conducive environment to the industrialists and aspiring entrepreneurs in Jammu and Kashmir. Government is focusing on developing industrial sector in the state and various industrial units are coming up which will directly help in boosting the economy of J&K, the minister maintained.Ganga urged the industrialists to employ local skilled youth in their units. He said that government is focusing on skill development of youth by way of providing them skill training in various fields. Speaking on the issue of development of industrial estates, the Minister said that government is developing the industrial infrastructure and is working on establishing new industrial estates in the state for which the process of creating land bank is under process.

On the occasion, the members of BBIA thanked the Minister for reduction in electricity duty, 24x7 clearances of industrial goods at Lakhanpur, implementation of ease of doing business concept in the industries department, reduction in pollution control consent fee and exemption to industrial sector from entry tax in respect of material handling equipments.

The members also raised various issues related to industrial growth in the state. Ganga assured the industrialists for redressal of their genuine issues and all possible support to develop the industrial sector.Among others, Director Industries and Commerce Department Jammu, Rajinder Singh Tara, Director MSME Varinder Sharma, MD SIDCO Amit Sharma, President BBIA Lalit Mahajan, Vice President BBIA Varun Singla, officer bearers of BBIA, concerned officers and industrialists were present in the function.Meanwhile, the Minister also felicitated Lt. Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal who along with his team scaled the Mount Everest ,during  a function organized at Jammu.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it is amatter of pride and honour to felicitate son of the soil for his outstanding success in scaling world's highest peak. He urged the youth to follow Lt. Col Ranveer Singh for achieving highest goals in their lives.
