Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayaalithaa said on Thursday that she was "indebted" to the people of Tamil Nadu for re-electing the AIADMK to power in assembly elections."I am overwhelmed by the resounding victory given by the people of Tamil Nadu. My party and I are indebted to the people of Tamil Nadu," she said as the AIADMK proved exit polls wrong by retaining power."After 1984, no ruling party in the state has been able to win an election and form the government for a successive term," she said. The chief minister said she would show gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu by working with renewed vigour and fulfilling the election promises. On an emotive note, she said there was no word in dictionary to describe her feelings about the AIADMK win. The victory "is truly historic".Jayalalithaa said she had no other interest in life other than working for the betterment of Tamil Nadu. She said the people had shown faith in her. "I also have faith in them. I am by the people and for the people."She said she believed in God and had an alliance with the people. "I did not have any mega political alliance."
