Canvassing for Balbir Singh Sidhu, Congress candidate from Mohali Union Minister for Information &Broadcasting , Ms. AmbikaSoni addressed today a large number of election meetings in Mohali.  In her speech she lambasted the Badals for perting crores worth of central grants for personal gains in utter disregard of interests of Punjab. She said that it was sad that Punjab which was ranked No 1 state till 2007 slipped to 12th position under the Akali Misrule. She said that 900 industries fled from Punjab during last 5 years due to governments corrupt practices, zero infrastructure and  disinterests towards it. It was very unfortunate that 47 lacs youth is today unemployed in Punjab slipping into the quagmire of drugs and alcohol and government is not bothered about it.

She told the gathering that Dr. ManmohanSingh, a true sikh, has Great respect for Punjab and has sent huge funds for development but still Mr. Badal lies that Center was meting out step motherly treatment towards the state. The grants of MNREGA, National Rural Health Scheme ( NRHS), Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan ( SSA) were frittered away in political gimmicks like Sangat darshans for petty political gains. She said that 900 rupees from every cycle distributed went into the Badal pocket. Badals running the state like private limited company tried to gobble up all opportunities like taking over the television cable business, road transport buses and so on.

Thanking Ambika Soni for always giving money to Mohali from her MPLADS Funds Balbir Sidhu said that the congress believes in empowering the citizens and has brought about legislations like right to education, RTI, right to work and now right to housing.  In line with he assured all that he shall bring about a transparent, corruption free government wherein all funds are used for development of the constituency.
