Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday said the notification for One Rank One Pension will be issued soon after the Bihar elections, and possibly before Diwali.Talking about the implementation of the scheme which he announced on September 5, Parrikar said: "We will issue the notification after Bihar elections."Asked if the notification would come before Diwali, which is on November 11, the minister said: "We will try to issue it before Diwali."The last phase of voting in the Bihar assembly elections is scheduled for November 5.The OROP scheme announced by the government will take 2013 as the base year to calculate pensions and the date of implementation will be July 1, 2014.The period for review is five years.Meanwhile, veterans from the three Services continued their agitation at Jantar Mantar, saying the scheme announced by the government is not in tune with the principle of one rank one pension.
