Municipal Bhawan Of Local Bodies Department Completed

Constructed In Sector 35 At A Cost Of Rs 38 Crore

The Municipal Bhawan being constructed by the Local Bodies Department, Punjab, at Sector-35 has been completed. Now, only electricity and water connection remain to be installed at the bhawan which has cost Rs. 38 crore to the state exchequer. The bhawan would be formally inaugurated very shortly and subsequent to which all the wings of the Local Bodies Departments would be shifted here thereby bringing all the services under one roof.Disclosing this, the Local Bodies Minister, Punjab, Mr. Anil Joshi said that the bhawan would soon house all the branches Directorate, PMIDC, Town Planning, Officers and Officials of SUDA, Director, Secretary, Chief Parliamentary Secretary and his own office. 

He said that this Bhawan has been constructed with a cost of Rs.38 crore. He also informed that main motive of constructing this Municipal Bhawan is to provide all services under one roof. He further said that with the offices of the department coming at one place, the citizens as well as officials of Municipal Councils/Trusts/Corporations of the state will not have to visit department's different offices located in other parts of Chandigarh for their official work. He said that it would save a lot of precious time and the work would be carried in a hassle free manner.The Minister said that this building would be an architectural masterpiece equipped with modern gadgets like centralized air-conditioning system and WiFi connectivity. He added that this new Bhawan would also have ultra modern Auditorium with seating capacity of 350.
