The Government has taken concerted steps to provide hassle-free service to the people and cut delays in the delivery system, said Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir, here today.He said to make officials accessible and prompt response from their side forms the important part of the reforms that would gradually unfold in the scheme of the things.The Minister was addressing over 100 delegates from 20 blocks of Jammu district invited by the former to project their issues and fearlessly speak on the ways of working of officers in the local administration.The delegates included Panchayat representatives, community representatives, social activists and individuals.District Development Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh, senior functionaries of district administration and Tehsildars of all Tehsils of the district were present at the meeting.     

Responding to the issues and grievances projected by the delegates, the Minister said that government has started various initiatives to bring a discernible change in the system. “In this process may be several heads will roll, but upright and committed officers and officials would receive all praise. Our motive is to provide relief to the commoners and ensure that people get their work done in one or two visits and are not forced to come again and again for petty issues” he added.The Minister said that the revenue ministry has brought in new team of young officers as Tehsildars with the view that they will work with full dedication to achieve new heights in their long career.He asked the people to speak fearlessly if they have any grievances regarding the working of any officer or official and the government as a whole.  Assuring prompt response, he said the solution to the issues could be identified and solved only by coming face to face with the reality.  

The Minister issued on the spot directions to the concerned for redressal of grievances projected by the delegates.The Minister also assured to take up the issue of crop compensation to the farmers whose agriculture land has come under border fencing with the Government of India authorities. He also assured that the demand for deploying Intensive Care Ambulances in border areas would be met at the earliest.The delegates, which included people from border blocks of R S Pura and Suchetgarh,   raised the issue of adequate compensation to the persons injured in cross border firing and shelling.  They said that many people have gone outside state for advanced treatment and they should be adequately compensated. They also demanded compensation for the   livestock killed in the border firing
