Badal Seeks Directions From Centre For Offering Help To J&K Flood Victims In The Best Possible Manner

The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today sought directions from Centre to offer all possible help to the flood affected people of J&K state in the best manner after consulting the J&K government.In separate letters to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley, the Chief Minister said that unprecedented calamity had struck Jammu & Kashmir last week, in which many precious lives had been lost  in this worst ever catastrophe besides large number of people were rendered homeless. While the assessment of damage to inpidual property and vital infrastructure in the state would take some time; the Punjab Government was keen to render immediate assistance to the J&K Government in handling this grave situation by all means in terms of food article supplies, medicines, doctors, blankets, clothes or anything else the Government of J&K needed.Badal said, “My heart goes out for the people of J&K who have suffered this disaster. The people of Punjab and my government share the grief with the people of J&K and express complete solidarity with them in this hour of crisis. We may also be informed of the nodal authorities, which could be contacted in this regard. We have not been able to establish contact with the government of J&K despite our best efforts.”Mr. Badal also apprised the Centre that he had personally urged the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to send food articles to J&K.
