The Punjab government and the Tata group has decided to set up a network of skill development centres in joint venture to impart training to the youth in the different trades in accordance with the emerging trends and needs of the local industry in the state.A decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash singh Badal here in a meeting with senior Vice President& Business Excellence Mr. HN Srinivas here at Chief Minister’s residence this evening.

Mr. Badal asked the state technical education to work out modalities to initially open such centre in Punjab on pilot basis which could be later replicated in other parts of the state. Mr. Badal shared his vision for the up-gradation of skill development amongst the youth to enable them to be gainfully employed besides ensuring them huge job opportunities to compete with their counterparts globally.
