Felicitating BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for his historic win, the Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal today described NDA's sweeping victory as a forceful mandate for clear and decisive leadership besides a vote for development.Profusely thanking the people of country for ensuring victory of the NDA in the general elections, the Chief Minister, in a statement issued here today, said that the spectacular results was a triumph of Mr. Modi's approach and firm resolve to make India as a leading nation in the world. He said that Mr. Modi's persistent drive against the corruption and inefficiency of the Congress led UPA government during the run up to the general elections 2014 has galvanised the NDA's rank and file besides exposing Congress party's misdeeds coupled with its pisive policies to destabilise the national fabric of the country. Badal said that the crushing defeat of the Congress in these elections at the hands of NDA which got absolute majority was a testimony to the fact that the countrymen have totally rejected the anti-people policies of the Congress party.

The Chief Minister said that under able and strong leadership of Modi, the NDA has decimated the Congress party across the country and the grand old party of the country has not been able to touch the three digit mark. Mr. Badal said that fed up by the wrong policies of the Congress led UPA government at Centre the countrymen had routed it out from power thereby paving a way for the formation of BJP led NDA government, of which SAD was a key ally, at the centre. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister thanked all the workers, leaders, office bearers and rank and file of SAD-BJP for working day and night for ensuring this landslide victory for the NDA alliance in these polls.  He also thanked the people for reposing faith in the ethos of democratic values by exercising their franchise freely. Mr. Badal also complimented the Election Commission of India for ensuring a free and fair poll, as truly reflected in the results.
