Public Works Department Minister Punjab Vijay Inder Singla, on Wednesday, inaugurated District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises (DBEE) inside District Administrative Complex Barnala. After the inauguration, the cabinet minister said that Punjab Government has been committed to provide source of income to each and every household in the state. He added that such bureaus have been inaugurated across the state for this purpose which would make the unemployed youth aware of the job and self-employment opportunities available with government departments and private entities. He added that their government would soon start new skill based courses as per the demand of the industry in the respective districts of Punjab.Singla said, “Besides providing training and counseling to the unemployed youth to improve their skills, the bureau would also ensure job placements and proper assistance to unemployed youth to start their self-employed career.”He added that their government has been continuously taking steps to bring the industry back in the state which would ultimately help to trim down the unemployment rate in Punjab. He said several steps including cheaper electricity rates, development of industrial parks and constituting district level industrial committees were some of them which facilitated the industrialists to return back to revive their industrial units in Punjab.
“Information regarding government and private jobs will be collected and published at the portal. It will also be displayed at the bureau. Provision for filling online applications and offline forms will also be made available in the bureau”, Singla said. The cabinet minister said to cater the visa frauds by travel agents, the bureau would also provide free counseling to candidates willing to go abroad for study as well as for work.The cabinet minister informed that their government had repaired as many as 16,000 kilometer link roads in Punjab in previous year with the cost of around 2,000 crores. He added soon development projects for all the link roads due for repair would be initiated for better connectivity.On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Dharam Pal Gupta, ADC (G) Ruhi Dugg, SDM Sandeep Kumar, ADC (D) Parveen Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Karamjit Singh, SP Sharanjit Singh, former MLA Joginder Singh Panjgrain, former MLA Bibi Harchand Kaur Ghanauri and several other prominent personalities were also present.
