DDC Budgam reviews dev works under MGNREGA, CDF

District Development Commissioner (DDC), Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik today convened a meeting of the officer to review the works being executed under MGNREGA and Constituency Development Fund (CDF) across the district.DDC while taking the block-wise review of the works directed concerned to expedite and execute works within the set time framework.While sharing the details through a power point presentation, the officials informed that out of 1100000 PDs target, 1038833 were generated during the current fiscal.They said that out of 4636 works taken up 3106 works have been completed by the department so far. Further out of Rs 2823.976 lakhs as approved budget Rs 2746.940 lakhs have been spent on different development works by the department during the current financial year so far.He warned punitive action to be taken against the officials failing to execute the works under MGNREGA scheme in their jurisdictions.

He also directed BDOs to regularly visit the villages and stay there to ensure works are being executed at a good pace.He emphasized on the raising of working days for labours registered under with MGNREGA. “Not only BDOs have to ensure clearance of pending works but also fresh works should be allotted for the development of all rural areas,” he said.DDC said that MGNREGA is a demand-driven scheme, which can be run as a revolutionary movement for the progress and upliftment of poor villagers by providing them working days and development of their areas.He also asked concerned to stop releasing salaries of officials including GRS for failing to execute works in time.DDC directed concerned to involve locals in the development process and start constructing protection walls in hilly areas to prevent soil erosions in these areas.He instructed BDOs to conduct job fair melas to raise the interest of locals for their DDC directed the ACD and BDOs to meet the targets and execute the works for the better development of all areas.He also directed concerned to gear up to ensure execution of the works under the CDF sanctioned by MLAs and MLCs of the district at the good pace.On the occasion, officials informed that out of Rs 146.25 lakhs as CDF released by the MLAs and MLCs during the current fiscal Rs 144.23 lakhs have been spent on different developmental works.
