Chief Justice, Jammu and Kashmir, Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed today visited Baramulla and inaugurated Conference Hall and Lawyers Chambers at the District Court Complex here as well as new complex of Munsiff Court at Boniyar.Minister for Law and Justice Abdul Haq and Administrative Judge for District Baramulla Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey accompanied the Chief Justice.Principal District and Sessions Judge Baramulla Rajesh Sekhri, Ist Additional District & Sessions Judge Baramulla, Jeema Basheer, Special IGP North Nitesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Nasir Ahmad Naqash, Superintending Engineer R&B, Senior Officers of the district administration, members of Bar Association Baramulla and Bar Associations Pattan, Boniyar, and Uri were also present on the occasion.The Chief Justice inaugurated Rs 35.11 lakh conference hall at District Court Baramulla having the capacity to accommodate 130 persons and Rs 60 lakh two-storey building for housing lawyers. He also inaugurated Rs 3.97 crore New Court Complex at Boniyar. The new court complex provides space for courtroom, retiring chamber of the Judge, Lawyers'-Room, litigants’ waiting room, e-courts services room, mini conference hall, and staff room.  

Later, he also inspected various courts of the district including Principal District and Sessions Judge, 1st Additional District and Sessions Judge Baramulla, Sub-Judge and Special Mobile Magistrate Baramulla as well as Court of Munsiff Baramulla where on-going proceedings were also monitored.Justice Durrez Ahmed directed the Presiding Officers of Courts to expedite disposal of pending cases with special emphasis on disposal of old cases. He also called for strict compliance with recently prepared Action Plan for disposal of pending cases to meet the challenge of docket explosion.He also took stock of e-courts services and the various facilities provided to the general public by use of technology under e-courts project. He himself tested the present status of Case Information System (CIS) online with e-court generated Cause List. He advised the Bar and Bench to make proper use of services provided by e-court projects.Instructions were also issued for further improvement in e-courts project to make it more user-friendly where anyone can have access to case online through recently launched software applications such as easily downloadable ecourtmobileapp and ecourtsServices application. Stress was also laid on data accuracy and timely updation of files and orders on National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG).During his visit, the Chief Justice also inspected ADR and Mediation Centre Baramulla and emphasized on disposal of pending cases through Alternative Disputes Redressal Mechanism where both the parties may have win-win situation without wasting time and money if their dispute is resolved amicably.

On the occasion, Minister for Law and Justice and Judges had a thorough interaction with the members of Bar Association Baramulla which were stressed for gaining self-education and quality legal assistance for proper adjudication of the cases. The Chief Justice appreciated the role of Bar and Bench and ensured to meet the request of Bar Association for filling the vacant post of court of Sub Judge, Additional District and Sessions Judge Baramulla and also to ensure that respective area-courts are conferred with powers under J&K Electricity Act and Houses and Shops Rent Control Act to mitigate the sufferings of common people.The Minister for Law and Justice announced a package of Rs 2 lakh for Bar Library and also instructed R&B Department to provide the necessary infrastructure to Bar Association Baramulla. Besides, he promised to give due support in addressing the problems of Bar and bench to make the institution of judiciary more vibrant and responsive.Addressing the members of Bar Association Baramulla, Justice Magrey appreciated the cordial and supportive role of Bar Association and other authorities in dispensation of justice.Judicial Officers of the District were asked to deliver quality Judicial Service to the litigants. Strictly adhere to honesty, punctuality, dedication, commitment, and impartiality which are hallmarks of an ideal judicial system.Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, Joint Registrar (Judicial), Central Projects Coordinator e-courts projects, and Secretary Law and Justice were also present on the occasion.
