The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today became the harbinger of good fortune for the Sahnewal constituency especially village Dhanansu where he laid the foundation stone of a hi-tech cycle valley as well as the exhibition Cum convention centre which would incurr the cost of Rs. 400 crore in 400 acre area. He also laid foundation of an approach road from valley to Chandigarh-Ludhiana Ludhiana highway.In his address to the vast crowd, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the state is well on course to become an industrial giant and the establishment of this cycle valley would make Punjab the biggest cycle manufacturing hub.Divulging more, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the cycle valley would see more than 20000 youth of the state availing employment avenues. He also divulged that the companies from Korea, Japan and Taiwan would establish their manufacturing units here which is sure to act as a catalyst for economic growth of the region. He said this cycle valley would provide developed industrial plots to the prospective investors at affordable prices equipped with modern amenities alongwith integrated support services covering banking, health, institutional, recreational, education etc.Earlier, S. Badal inaugurated the High Level Bridge over Satluj at village mattewara and dedicated it to the public.In a significant development, the Deputy Chief Minister promised BC status for the Rajput community . He also announced a grant worth Rs. 7 Crore for the overall development of Sahnewal constituency besides sanctioning a 400 KV power station in Dhanansu, a college and expansion of mandi at mattewara.
Terming the SAD-BJP government as only one devoted to economic and social prosperity of Punjab, S. Badal the state government has constructed more than 150 railway bridges during 9 years besides spending Rs. 6000 crore on providing water supply and sewerage facilities in 100 mandi's falling in the cities. He also said that the excellent road network with 4 and 6 laned roads, free medicine centers, skill college in each block with permission granted by the Union Government for 1000 more such institutions, health insurance for farmers and traders, Atta -Dal scheme, Shagan scheme, waiving of tube well bills of the farmers are only some of the shining achievements of the SAD-BJP government.Coming to futuristic announcements, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Rs. 35000 crore would be spent during the course of next 5 years in providing facilities such as sewerage and concretized streets to more than 12000 villages of the state and gas connections would shortly be provided to the poor households.Taking on Congress, S. Badal said that Gandhi family and Captain Amarinder Singh are the enemies of the state as well as Sikhs.
He said that people of Punjab would never vote for the Congress which attacked the holiest of holy shrines of Sikhs and massacred innocents in 1984 and which cannot list even a single developmental project undertaken by it during it's tenure.Castigating AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal the Deputy Chief Minister said that the if Kejriwal is so serious about making a dalit the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab then first he should implement this promise in Delhi. The Deputy Chief Minister also asked Kejriwal to come clean on SYL issue and spell out his clear stand and also stop luring the people of Punjab with false promises.On the occasion, the Irrigation Minister, Punjab, Sharanjit Singh Dhillon expressed gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister for ushering in an era of prosperity in not only Sahnewal but throughout the length and breath of Punjab.
