District Development Commissioner, Baramulla   Dr Nasir Naqash along with a team of officers  today inspected various ongoing developmental works being executed under core sectors in district. He also inspected schools, government offices and health centers in Tehsil Boniyar of Sub Division Uri.Dr.  Naqash stated that development and welfare of people of district Baramulla is on the top priority and  every possible measure will be taken in this regard to ensure that all the services are placed at the doorsteps of the people.Inspecting tehsil complex Boniyar, the DDC checked tehsil office record   and interacted with the public. He listened the public grievances patiently and assured that their genuine grievances would be looked into and redressed at the earliest. District Development Commissioner inspected the construction work of court complex on which Rs. 150 lakh stands expended against at an estimated cost of Rs. 398 lakh. The District Development Commissioner emphasized the concerned officials that the remaining portion of work should also get completed within the given time period and in this regard more efforts have to be put on. Later, the District Development Commissioner inspected construction work of Boniyar Bridge which is being executed by R&B at an estimated cost of the bridge is Rs 3.95 crore. An amount of Rs. one crore stands 4expended on the construction of bridge and with the completion of this bridge, people of Trikanjan, Maidanan, Banali, Chautaliaya, Dudran, Darakhojan, Bachhi villages get benefitted.Taking a serious note on slow pace of work on foot bridge, the  District Development Commissioner exhorted upon the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work ensuring its timely completion, saying that  the bridge is a single connecting link for number of adjacent villages with population of over 10000  souls.

Meanwhile, the District Development Commissioner paid surprise visit to Government Primary Health Centre Boniyar where he interacted with the patients and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. The concerned authorities apprised the District Development Commissioner about the various issues with regard to  the functioning of the hospital.  Responding to their problems, the District Development Commissioner assured them that every kind of help will be provided by the district administration so that the public do not face any inconvenience. Earlier CEO Baramulla and ZEOs of Uri sub-division apprised District Development Commissioner about functional status of schools. It was informed that almost 90 per cent schools remain open during these days and more than 50 per cent of students are present in schools. District Development Commissioner directed the CEO, ZEOs and Principals to ensure that both the teachers and students should attend the schools and try their best to complete the syllabus. He also directed CEO to monitor the functioning of schools and submit report on regular basis.Taking tough stand on absenteeism and the work culture, the District Development Commissioner directed SDM Uri and Tehsildar Boniyar to pay regular visit of offices within their jurisdiction and monitor their attendance and seek explanation from the absentees. He instructed the officials that in case of any deviation of the instructions, strict action shall be taken under rules.
