12 Dead, 20 injured as Bus Falls into Gorge in Udhampur

Rescue operations underway at the site where a bus fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Jan 15, 2016. At least nine people were killed and 15 injured in the accident.

Twelve people died and at least 30 others were injured, when a bus they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.The passenger bus, which was on its way to Udhampur from Basantgarh, skidded off the road and rolled down into the gorge at keya in the district, reports said.“In the mishap, 12 people have died and 30 others received injuries”, they said.Meanwhile, the injured have been hospitalized at Sub-District Hospital Ramnagar and the critically injured were airlifted to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital in Jammu

The deceased have been identified as Sunita Kumari (40 yrs) w/o Daleep Singh r/o Blota- chigla, Sadhu Ram (70 yrs) S/o Sunder R/O Keya, Om Parkash (25 yrs) S/O Jagdish Chand R/O Rasli-Gader, Ashok Kumar(45 yrs) S/o Govind Ram R/o Udhampur, Des raj(48 yrs) S/O Munshi Ram r/o Keya, Hukum Chand(35 yrs) s/o Jodh mal r/o Basantgarh, Neelam Kumari(22 yrs) w/o Amit Gupta r/o Basantgarh,   Sudesh Kumar (38 years) S/o Kundi Ram, R/O Dehari, Radhu Devi (3 yrs) D/O Gandhi r/o Udhampur and  Mohinder Kumar(30 yrs) driver s/o Rattan Lal r/o Kirmu.
