Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Ms. Priya Sethi today visited Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and inspected the ongoing development works being executed in the college.While inspecting the construction work of School of Engineering Technology which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.46 crore, the Minister directed the concerned to complete the ambitious project in a time-bound manner. She also asked the Principal of the College to ensure quality of works. Priya Sethi also took stock of ongoing works under RUSA. Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College apprised the Minister about various skill development courses which have been started in the College to foster entrepreneur skills in students.

Priya Sethi appreciated the various courses being started  in College to chisel the skills of students for their bright future. The courses which have been started under Skill Development Training Programme are Production of Bakery and Preserved Items by Food Science Department, Florist shop and Boutique Technology by Home Science Department.The Minister appreciated the way the students of Home Science & Food Science Department are running canteen and taking keen interest in flower arrangement for the florist shop. She asked the students of Botany Department to beautify their botanical garden by planting new and rare varieties of herbal and medicinal plants.
