As part of campaign to ensure maximum participation of women in social security schemes, Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture, Priya Sethi and Senior BJP Leader Yudhvir Sethi today, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, organised a special camp in the Jammu East Constituency, where thousands of woman enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY).To make the Suraksha Bandhan drive a successful and result oriented,  the Minister called upon women to register more and more under the ambit of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s novel flagship social security programme, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY).“Our Prime Minister has started number of social security schemes and a special campaign is underway on this Raksha Bandhan to enable maximum participation of women in these schemes,” she added.The function was attended by thousands of women and various other dignitaries from different wards of the constituency.

Prominent among those who attended the event include, Mahant Ravi Dass ji from Peer Kho, Mahant Swami Sarvanand Saraswati, Anil Masoom, Ms Anju Dogra, Ms Saroj Gupta, Ms Sharda Devi, Arun Sethi, Raju Pahalwan, Pankaj Verma, Vishal Kohli, Amit Kapoor, Govind Sareen, Tarsem Jain, Bittu Pardhan, Ashwani Mahajan, Pardeep Langeh, Sanjay Gupta, Rajesh Dogra, Ms Vaneeta, Ms. Darshana, Ms. Pinki, Ms. Renu Khajuria and Ms Bholi Devi.The day long camp started at 11 am and over 1600 women enrolled in the camp with many more pledging support to join the special enrolment drive.Speaking on the occasion, Priya lauded the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching number of schemes for the welfare of the people especially poor people. She informed that the social security schemes are meant to give economic and social security to every individual and widen the process of financial inclusion. Now, poor can have identity, esteem and self respect as these schemes involve little investment, she added.

She also enlisted the benefits of The Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana to all. She stressed upon all to give insurance policies as a gift to sisters this Raksha Bandhan.On the occasion, women folk also gave Rakhis for the Prime Minister Narindra Modi to the Minister.On the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi also provided premium for female beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha Yojna (PMBSY) to more than thousand women as a gift to sisters on this Raksha Bandan and assured them that every year the premium will be paid by him.He said the program is part of the initiatives launched by the government to reach out to every section of the society and to ensure social security to those marginalized sections which are living under abject poverty. He said the objective is ‘Antyodaya’ and social security in real sense can only be called successful if the benefits reach out to the most marginalized sections of the society.“On the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan, let’s pledge to give our sisters the gift of insurance that the government has launched,” he added.

Extending sympathies to the border families of R.S. Pura, Yudhvir blamed the neighbouring nation for disturbing peace in the State and said that recent killing of villagers at Abdullian in cross border firing is condemnable.He also prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed his support with the bereaved family.“On the auspicious day of Raksha Bandhan we must also extend our support and gratitude to the soldiers who are standing against the enemy forces and defending our motherland,” he added.
