Minister for Transport, Abdul Gani Kohli today convened a review meeting to take stock of the transport related issues in Leh district and to have an overall review on development in the area.Minister for Cooperatives, Chering Dorjey and other senior officers were also present in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that government is working on a transport policy to bring transparency and streamline the transport sector in the state.He assured that given the difficult terrain and geographical location of Ladakh region, special consideration would be given to Ladakh in the transport policy.
While highlighting various transport related issues Mr Chering Dorjey said that District ARTO office should be strengthened further besides traffic police should ensure that people and transport operators follow the rules and regulations strictly.Later, the minister visited SRTC regional and ARTO office and took stock of their functioning.
