Maintaining that the state would be developed on equitable basis, the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said the pace of development has been accelerated by introducing several new programmes besides ensuring proper monitoring of the old ones.The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing an impressive gathering at Sheeri, Heeven in Baramulla district.  The Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga was also present.

Dr Singh said that ever since the present Government took over, it has been endeavor to ensure smooth, transparent and corruption free administration which would   cater to the demands of the people at the gross root levels. “It has been  our endeavor to  ensure  corruption free administration is provided to the  people  of the State and in this regard  several corrupt officers have been shown the door and the  tirade  against  corruption would continue” , he added.The Deputy Chief Minister said  that  new job opportunities  would be  provided  to the  youth of the State  and in this regard  the government has formulated a comprehensive  job policy which would  ensure  that  the jobs  are provided to the educated youth of the State on merit and through transparent manner. He said the youth should come forward and contribute their bit in nation building and it is the duty of the Government to ensure that their talent  and  capabilities  are channelized  in a proper manner.

Responding to the demands  of the people  the  Minister for industries and Commerce Mr Chander Parkash  Ganga  while  speaking on the occasion  said  that  a new  industrial  estate would be  constructed in the Heevan area and  directed the  officers to identify the land  for the  purpose.The Deputy Chief Minister later launched the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan at Carriapa Park, Baramulla. He  asked  the people  present there to contribute their  bit  in making  the country  clean by  undertaking  this  Abhiyan.The Deputy Chief Minister also visited Pandit Colony at Veriwan. While interacting with them, Dr. Singh assured them that all their genuine problems would be redressed and directed the concerned officers of various departments like PHE, PDD, Municipal Corporation to provide the necessary services to the colony. He said that both Centre and State are committed to ensure the safe return and rehabilitation of KPs. Later the Deputy Chief Minister interacted with various deputations at Baramulla.  He assured them that all their genuine demands would be redressed in a proper way in a time bound manner.Responding to their demands, the Deputy Chief Minister announced an amount of Rs.15 lakhs for the Municipal Corporation Baramulla for augmentation of various essential things like drainage, street lightening and construction of lanes.
