The Punjab Tourism Department today took a path breaking step to involve general public in the tourism projects,  training them with potential tourism skills, encouraging tertiary and service industries in the tourism sector to make this sector a catalyst of employment of youth. The Punjab Government in today constituted a committee for the purpose of selection of institute for conducting 'Hunar Se Rozgar Tak' (HSRT) courses and increase enrolment of youth in them.

Disclosing this here today Sohan Singh Thandal, Minister for Tourism said that this committee has been mandated to select the institute for conducting the training in 'Hunar Se Rozgar Tak' (HSRT) courses by following a transparent system. He said that this committee would be comprised of Principal Secretary Tourism as Chairperson, Principal IHM Bathinda, Regional Director India Tourism 88 Janpath, New Delhi, Director Technical Education Punjab, Director Higher Education Punjab, Chief Admin. PUDA (all Member) and Director Tourism Punjab, Chandigarh would be the Member Secretary of this committee. The Chairperson may co-opt any other person in the committee. “The criteria being followed by the Government of India for selection of the institute shall be followed.” said Mr. Thandal.
