Two time MLA Prithvi Chand got himself reunited with BJP on Friday when he formally joined the party after few years of silence. He was welcomed into the party-fold by State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma, Leader of Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria, State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, State General Secretary Kavinder Gupta, Party MLAs Sham Choudhary and Sukhnandan Kumar, Kathua-Doda Constituency Incharge Som Raj Khajuria, Udhampur District President Dina Nath Bhagat and other senior leaders. He was also garlanded on the occasion.Jugal Kishore Sharma, while terming the coming back of Prithvi Chand as a good development, said that during the past few weeks a large number of leaders and prominent citizens from different parts of the state have been joining the party after the declaration of Narendra Modi as Prime Ministerial candidate. Many people who had even left the party are also now getting reunited with BJP and we welcome each one of them.
Jugal Kishore Sharma expressed hope that Prithvi Chand will work to strengthen the party with his efforts and assured that the party too will grant him full respect as a politician.Prithvi Chand, while speaking on the decision to come back to BJP, said that the party had given him identity and extended full support in getting elected as MLA from Chenani constituency in 1996. He said that due to some personal problems, he could not remain associated with the party. Now the Modi wave has impressed me to work for the party and I take pledge to work whole-heartedly for my parent party, he declared.Pertinent to mention that Prithvi Chand first got elected as MLA from Ram Nagar constituency on the Mandate of Janata Party in 1977 and second time he got elected from Chenani constituency on the mandate of BJP in the year 1996.BJP leader including Dr. Jitendra Singh, Vibodh Gupta, Ramesh Arora (Adv.) Sat Sharma (C.A), Pawan Khajuria, Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, Balbir Ram Rattan, Arun Chhibber, Subash Jandial, Jaideep Sharma, Surinder Bhagat, Vipin Shastri, Dina Nath Bhagat, Vijay Gupta, Rakesh Anthal, Puran Chand Bhagat, Govind Sareen, Faqir Chand, Vijay Kumar, Bittu Kumar, and others were present on the occasion.
