District Development Commissioner Poonch, Nisar Ahmed Wani today chaired a meeting to review the progress of ongoing developmental projects in health sector taken up under various schemes in the district.Assistant Commissioner Development, Dr Basharat Hussain, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mumtaz Bhatti, Superintendent District Hospital, Dr. Niaz Choudhary, XEn PWD (R&B), Mushtaq Raina, XEn JKPCC, Maqbool Hussain, Deputy CMO, Dr. Zulfkar Ahmed, BMO Mandi, Dr. Shamim Bhatti and BMO Mendhar Dr. Parvez Khan attended the meeting.The DDC reviewed the progress of several ongoing projects under District Plan, State Sector, BADP (district and state plan), NABARD, BRGF and NHM.
At the outset, the Chief Medical Officer gave a detailed brief about the completed projects and the works in progress under each scheme and brought in the notice of DDC bottlenecks hampering the progress of some projects. The CMO informed about the ongoing works like residential quarters for medical officers at Mandi and Surankote, Casualty ward at Mendhar, Health Sub Centre at Banola and Chhungan and Allopathic Dispensary (AD) at Seri Chowhana etc .The DDC directed the executing agencies to immediately handover the completed projects to health department and asked the CMO and XENs of R&B and JKPCC to work in close coordination to ensure early completion of all ongoing projects. Wani directed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of ongoing work to avoid cost escalation. He also directed the XEn JKPCC to revisit the DPR of AD at Seri Chowhana. Besides, the CMO was instructed to proactively resolve all the disputes that have led to some projects being held up.
