Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh said that  the priority of the State Government was to accelerate the pace of development with special emphasis  on remote and far flung areas so that these could be brought at par with other parts of the State. He was addressing a public meeting at Taklech  in Rampur area of Shimla district after inaugurating PWD Rest House constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.10 crore.  He said that apart from officials it would also provide boarding facilities to the tourists visiting the area. He said that the State Government was giving boost to the rural tourism and State Government would ensure that all basic amenities were being provided to them in remote areas of the State.  Earlier, Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Lift Water Supply Scheme from Kashpat to Densa via Pataina  Kuhal and Chiksa. He said that Rs. 16 crore would be spent on its construction which would facilitate 11300 people of 19 villages of six Panchayats. 

Shri Virbhadra Singh also inaugurated Rs. 1.40 crore Senior Secondary School building at Majheothi. He said that Rs. 28 crore was being spent by PWD Department on various construction works in Rampur assembly constituency with emphasis on construction of roads. He said that the work on Dandol-Kashpat road, Deothi-Keem road, Kuridhar-Chunja, Kayargala-Kunnath road and Lalasa-Shandal-Majeli road  in Rampur area had been speeded up. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Shri Nand Lal thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring speedy development of the area which had come to stand still during the tenure of previous BJP government. MP Smt. Pratibha Singh, Shri Khoob Ram, MLA, Shri Kehar Singh Khachi, President Shimla District Congress Committee, Shri Chandreshwar Prasad, Chairman, Zila Parishad, Vice President, HPSIDC Shri Atul Sharma, Chairman, Kailash Federation Shri Brij Lal, Chairman, Agriculture Rural Development Bank Shri Devi Singh Jistu, President, Rampur Block Congress Shri Satish Verma, District Mahila Congress President Smt. Chander Prabha Negi, Chairman, MC Rampur, Shri Deepak Sood, Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri T.G Negi, Deputy Commissioner Shri Dinesh Malhotra and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
