Punjab To Organise Livestock Fairs From November 7 To December 10

The Punjab Government has announced to organize the district level Livestock fairs and milch competitions from November 7 to December 10 across the state.The Animal Husbandry Minister of Punjab S. Gulzar Singh Ranike today said that animal husbandry was contributing more than 13 percent to the state GDP, which has the potential to extend up to 20 percent.  The minister has also said that, the Punjab Government was committed for the development of animal husbandry department as this sector was providing the maximum subsidiary occupations to youths.These fairs would be organized with the collaboration of Rural Development and Panchayat Department. The first fair would be held at Taran Taran on November 7, followed by Patiala on November 8. In Ludhiana it would be organised  on November 11, Mansa on 12 november, Jalandhar on November 15, Sangrur on November 16, Gurdaspur on Novermber 18, Sri Mukatsar Sahib on 19 November , SBS Nagar on November 22, Bathinda on November 23,  Hoshiarpur on November 25, Faridkot on November 26, Kapurthala on November 27, Moga on November 28, Amritsar on November 29 and  Ferozpur on November 30.Besides that the fair at Pathankot would be organize on December 2, where as Fatehgarh Sahib would witness the fair on December 3. In Ajitgarh it would be held on December 6, Barnala on December 7, Roopnagar on December 9 and Fazilka on December 10.The Minister further said that the instructions have been issued to all concerned officials to provide free green fodder for livestock during these fairs.
