Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today appealed Government to prepare plan for the temporary settlement of displaced persons from border villages in view of Pak Ranger’s heavy firing.In a statement, Singh conducted visit of border villages including SM Pur, Jasso Chak, and Kandral villages and interacted with the affected people.

Addressing the people at different places, he appreciated their courage to staying amid heavy mortar and rocket shelling by Pak Rangers.He said that the Government should identify the safe placed and construct shelters for people and their cattles so that the affected families could stay there for some time until normalcy is restored on the border.

Regarding reservation, he said that people living along IB have been facing worst situation like people on LoC but they were not given reservation right like LoC people.

He appealed that reservation should be given to the IB people in professional educational institutions, and recruitments besides for other purposes.Singh addressing the people said that the people have been rendered without work as their fields which come ahead of fence are not vulnerable area due to Pak Rangers firing.  Those who are present include paramjeet singh pamma IYC leader, Romesh Chand, Updesh Kumar, Manohar lal , Ch. Choura Ram , Ch. Sat Paul. Deepak Choudhary , Deepak Bhatti,Billu Choudhary, Gaurnsm Singh , Ex. Capt. Banta Ram, Ex. Capt.
