Srinagar , 21 Jun 2015

Expressing serious concern over the increasing road accidents, opposition National Conference Sunday said the situation has put a question mark over the functioning of the traffic arrangements and policies of the coalition government.Talking to KNS, NC General Secretary and former minister Ali Mohammad Sagar said, “Thousands of people have lost their lives due to the road accidents and the rate of deaths on roads is increasing every day.  But it is a pity that the coalition government after every painful accident conveys condolences and sympathies with the bereaved families rather than taking effective steps to check such horrible deaths.”“Everything is left unattended by the inefficient authorities,” he added.Emphasizing the need to improve the condition of roads, he said, “The roads are in dilapidated condition which is another reason for these accidents. In Srinagar city the congestion and the traffic chaos is worsening, and there seems lack of will and skill to set the things in order.” (KNS)
