Work on Rs. 1.80 cr healths Sub-centre to be started soon: DDC Shopian

The construction work on 6 healths Sub-Centre involving Rs. 1.80 crore would be started soon for which the tendering process has been completed.This was informed at a meeting convened here today to review the plan performance of Education and Health sectors. The District Development Commissioner, Shopian, Bashir Ahmad Bhat was in the chair.

These 6 Health institutions on which the construction work wold be started are including Narpora, Mosshwara, Wathoo, Memendar, Saidapora Bala and Gadipora in Shopian District.During the meeting, the concerned Sectoral officers deliberated upon the status of under execution works and the achievement achievements registered under both the sectors up to ended September 2013.In respect of Education sector, it was informed that the construction work on 19 school buildings  have been taken up under RMSA during 2013-14 of which construction work on 2 school buildings have been completed so far, while as work on 8 school buildings  are near completion. As many as 19 schools of the district have been upgraded to the level of High School during the year 2013-14, the meeting was further informed.

It was given out in the meeting that 5200 Gujjar & Bakerwal Students & 2000 Pahari Speaking students are being provided scholarship, besides, 30,200 students shall be provided free text books.DDC directed the concerned to accelerate the pace of construction work on all the developmental projects and achieve forv ensuring there timely completion.Among others, Chief Planning Officer, Imtiyaz Ahmad and the concerned sectoral officers and concerned engineers were also present in the meeting.
