Minister for Transport Abdul Ghani Kohli today said that the Government is determined to reach out to the people especially in remote and inaccessible areas to meet their development needs and aspirations in a prompt manner.The Minister was addressing a grievances redress camp at Dalli- a remote area in Kalakote.Stressing on need-based and comprehensive development of the area, the Minister said a well conceived plan has been formulated to give fillip to the developmental projects besides ensuring that their benefits percolate to the deserving. Emphasizing on holding grievances camps periodically in inaccessible areas, the Minister said; “Our endeavor is to involve citizens and take their suggestions and feedback as an integral part of the development process”.Various demands projected by locals pertained to augmentation of potable water, repair of roads, construction of water tank at Dalli, construction of Bedok to Behargala road, upgradation of primary schools and deployment of adequate staff at Dalli, establishment of sheep sub centre, establishment of veterinary and Mulberry centers, up-gradation of local PHC and posting of adequate medical staff. 

The people also demanded opening of ration depots in remote and hilly areas. Responding to their demands, the Minister said the people have   high expectations from the present dispensation and all possible resources are being pooled to address their genuine demands in a phased manner. The Minister informed that upgradation of Soit to Kalakote road and black-topping of 30 km Baddal to Khawas road has been sanctioned.The Minister directed the administration to generate awareness among the people about various Centrally Sponsored schemes so that the people easily avail their benefits and improve their lives.Earlier, in order to make people aware about the ongoing development projects under different sectors, the Minister asked the officers to be prompt and responsive to the development needs of people and to reach out to every area of district for ascertaining their grievances and their early redressal.The Minister also directed the concerned for early replacement of power distribution transformer.  Many other issues were solved on the spot by issuing necessary instructions to the concerned departments.Enroute several deputations met the Minister and appraised their problems to him for early redressal.
