Stressing that Islamiyat should be made permanent part of curriculum in private and public educational institutions, APHC Chairman and head of Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam, Mirwaiz Dr Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq has said since Kashmir was a Muslim majority region, Islamic moral teachings is necessary to be promoted and taught to students to lay the foundation of better society based on moral and religious codes. Mirwaiz said that without the proper understanding of Islamic teachings,  it was not possible that Muslims could find solution to their religious, social and political problem.Addressing a seminar “Problems Of Youth, their Solutions in the light of teaching of Prophet Muhamamd (SAW)” organized by Anjuman at Nusrat-ul-Islam Higher Secondary School Rajouri Kadal Srinagar, APHC Chairman  said that morality and religiosity makes one a good human being besides it helps to build a reformed and enlightened society. He said there was no way other than to find the solution of our problems except within the ambit of Islamic teachings.

He said by strengthening the divine bond with Allah (SWT) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) we can face the current challenges faced by us and by Muslims at large. Mirwaiz said the parents, intellectuals, teachers and Ulemas have to play a vital role in the society to foil the conspiracies being hatched to weaken Islamic character of Kashmiris.APHC Chairman appealed the youth that the only response to economic woes was to understand the dignity of labour and work hard to create and build business and industrial sector to achieve self sustenance.  He said the local handicrafts and industries have always played a backbone in sustaining Kashmir’s economy, adding, instead of relying on government jobs, youth should take to business, trade and industry as a means of sustenance.

During the seminar, dozens of students from various schools of Srinagar and across the Valley participated and spoke on the topic. A large number of locals, intellectuals, and civil society members were also present on the occasion.Ahmad Mustafa of Bilalyia Institute bagged first prize in Seerat competition. Whereas Saima Rehman of Islamia Higher Secondary School and Fiza Farooq of Standard School respectively bagged second and third position. (CNS)
