He further said that the preliminary questioning of arrested persons has revealed that they were in touch with Pakistan-based smuggler code named Bhatti who had used Pak border crossers for delivering the consignment to Gurdev Singh, Indian smuggler. Gurdev Singh had deputed Tarsem Singh for collecting the consignment, and after collection of the contraband the duo was on their way for its further disposal, he added. He said that the arrested persons would be produced in court where police remand to question them thoroughly would be sought. It may be mentioned here that the Punjab Police was fully committed to expose such heroin trafficking rackets completely by unveiling the Pakistan end supplier, the Pakistan border crosser/courier, the Indian courier, the Indian smuggler and the intended recipient of the contraband.
