Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organized a seminar on “Mind Your Mind” at PHD Chamber, Chandigarh. Vice President, Finance & Corporate Services, Canada, Mr. Richard W. Peters, CA, CBV was the chief guest on the occasion. Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr Anshu Kataria presided over the event. The event was attended by Staff and students of Aryans Group. The session covered all aspects of physical and spiritual mind Col. Gursewak Singh beautifully explained all the aspects related to “Human Mind” and the impact of contemplative practices, such as meditation, on the brain. Different theories were explained to differentiate Conscious and Sub-conscious mind, its role in conjunctions with our brain. Further how it helps us to enhance our personality to achieve success in life and attain peace of mind.
In a process to boost up the students a short guided meditation session was also performed. While explaining the methods to attain a healthy mind he laid emphasis on healthy diet and regular exercise as both promotes healthy and positive thinking. He further said that healthy living is a chosen journey of personal development which aims at increasing quality of life, higher personal performance and inner contentment.While explaining the need of exercise in students lifehe further added that physical exercise, meditation, plenty of sleep and socialization are some steps to keep our mind healthy. Alcohol and other drugs kill brain cells. On other hand, Caffeine creates a dependence on a chemical that can otherwise be generated naturally. Overdosage of certain medicines certainly kills brain cells.
After the lecture, a Question/Answer round was also held. Col. Gursewak Singh made all the queries of the audience clear regarding various problems and issues related to Mind. Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, Dr. Anshu Kataria extended Vote of Thanks for the tips given by Col.
